Sway – A New Publishing Experience in O365

Sway is one of the new publishing experiences in Office 365. It has been compared to Powerpoint, but it is a very different kind of publishing experience. It is more of a storytelling application designed for the creation of presentations. Sway presentations can be backed-up in the Cloud and embedded into websites.

The interface is easy for users to drag and drop different functionality onto the page allowing for an easy-to-use experience that users are now demanding of. Unlike PowerPoint, there is no ability for the creation of content in Sway itself. It is intended to combine content from multiple sources to present into one presentation.

Users do have the option to import existing Word, PowerPoint and PDF documents to create the Sway.

Users can choose whether to present their content in a vertical or horizontal format. Sways can be shared and also leveraged through search in Delve and co-authoring is available for collaboration.
